Students: there is no LinkedIn student discount

I want to be blunt about this because it's the most misrepresented item on the list.

LinkedIn does not publish a student price tier for Premium. If a site is advertising a "LinkedIn student discount" with a code, it's an affiliate promotion, not an official programme — and the code will not work.

What does exist are two indirect routes, both of which reach LinkedIn Premium through someone else's bundle:

• Amazon Prime Student includes six months of LinkedIn Premium free as a member benefit. If you're already a Prime Student subscriber, check your benefits page before you pay LinkedIn anything.
• Microsoft's education offer bundles 12 months of Microsoft 365 Premium together with LinkedIn Premium Career for college students.

The free trial

LinkedIn offers a one-month Premium free trial to eligible accounts. It's not an ongoing discount, but if you're evaluating whether Premium is worth paying for at all, it's the obvious first move: full access, no cost, one month to decide.

Two things to keep in mind. It converts to a paid subscription automatically unless you cancel before the trial ends, and trials are generally one per account — so don't burn it on a week when you're too busy to use it.

Annual billing

Paying for a year up front lowers the effective monthly rate compared with month-to-month billing. It's the least exciting option on this list and the only one available to absolutely everyone.
